Watford have started the transfer window with some intent, snapping up Will Hughes from Derby and sniffing around other top performers in the Championship.
New manager Marco Silva will be keen to improve on what was a bit of a dismal showing in the Premier League last term, with the Hornets only just finishing above the relegation zone in 17th.
However, next year represents a decent chance for them to get back on track, and our landlord thinks that with a few additions, Watford could challenge higher up the league table.
With the trend of looking in the Championship continuing, we think that one man who could be brilliant in the top flight is Sheffield Wednesday midfielder Sam Hutchinson.
The Owls midfielder has developed a reputation for himself as one of the Championship’s toughest competitors, and it is somewhat surprising more clubs have not come sniffing round him looking to sign him up.
Hutchinson is a bundle of energy when he plays in the middle, and loves a tackle to say the least. There are not many players like him in the top flight at the moment, and he would certainly shake things up a bit.
While Watford might not be the most obvious destination, it would be hard for Hutchinson to turn down a move to the Premier League, and the thought of him paired with Hughes in the middle of the park is something which Hornets fans could genuinely be excited about.
