Watford will be looking to have another decent season in the Premier League, and their target will once again be to simply ensure they remain in the top flight and avoid relegation.

However, the pressure will be on in terms of performances and attacking play, with the club choosing to cash in on star winger Richarlison, who the club sold to Watford for a fee in excess of £40m.

There are though, suitable replacements out there for the club to look to sign, and we here at the Transfer Tavern think we have identified a few players.

One such player who is in the price range that Watford will be looking to splash out on is Argentina winger Cristian Pavon, who put in some decent displays for his country this summer despite a poor tournament on the whole for the South Americans.

Valued at £18m by Transfermarkt, the tricky forward would no doubt relish a move to the English game from Boca Juniors, and at just 22-years-old, he has plenty of time to develop into a quality player in the Premier League.

With Richarlison gone, it makes sense for Watford to look to add a like for like replacement, and Pavon might be just that.

Pavon would bring goals, assists, and excellent workrate to the Hornets, and is someone the club could develop further and possibly look to sell on in the future - much like Richarlison before him.
