Watford fans in The Transfer Tavern who are playing darts are discussing comments made by their in form striker.
The Daily Mail is reporting that Odion Ighalo turned down some crazy offers from China in the summer to remain with Watford for their return to Premier League football.
The striker admitted that he seriously considered the move to China but is glad he chose to remain at Vicarage Road.
Ighalo has not looked back since making his decision to stay, with both himself and Troy Deeney in fine form scoring 14 of the 17 goals Watford have scored this season. Now, quoted by The Mail, he revealed just how close he was to leaving.
“I had four or five offers but the China one was crazy. That kind of money is very tempting and for three days I could not sleep because I was thinking about it, so many things in my head, so many people saying things about it.”
“But I just kept calm and prayed, and then made my decision. It was my dream to play in England, which I watched when I was back in Nigeria and I wanted to be a part of it, so I didn’t want to lose my dream because of money.”
The Watford fans in The Transfer Tavern are delighted with Ighalo’s comments and are enjoying watch both him and Deeney up front for the club this season. Celebrating their form, they’ve ordered a fresh round!
