Premier League outfit Watford are weighing up a move for England U21 star Nathaniel Chalobah this summer, following the midfielder’s standout performances at the U21 European Championships.
According to Sky Sports, the Hornets who have already signed Chalobah’s England team-mate Will Hughes this summer, are extremely keen to secure a deal to take the midfielder to Vicarage Road in the coming weeks.
The 22-year-old academy graduate is set for talks this week over his future at Stamford Bridge, with the player likely to move on if assurances cannot be made over first-team football.
New Watford boss Marco Silva has wasted little time in adding to his squad and it would seem that he has big plans to try and guide his new charges up the Premier League table.
The Chelsea fans here in the Tavern don’t seem overly fussed that Chalobah might move on this summer, with one stating that he isn’t ready to be playing regular first-team games anyway.
Our Watford fan is sat chilling in the beer garden here in the Tavern and he thinks it is a good thing that Silva appears to be targeting some homegrown players ahead of next season, stating that Chalobah would be a decent signing should the club pursue his signature.
