‘Way to go’, ‘Big mistake’ – Chelsea fans aren’t very happy as 19-year-old shows Liverpool what they’re getting

The Chelsea fans in the Transfer Tavern were expecting big things from Dominic Solanke…

The 19-year-old was seriously impressing the fans in the pub during his spell in the Blues’ developmental system, forming a deadly partnership with Tammy Abraham.

In truth, he looked destined to make it at Stamford Bridge, eventually making his first team debut whilst still a teenager.

However, over the last year, he has hardly featured, and Liverpool recently confirmed that they have agreed a deal with the Englishman to take him to Anfield. Indeed, it seems as though contract negotiations hit a wall between Chelsea and the striker – leaving an exit the only real option.

The Chelsea fans in the pub have been rueing that decision all week long, and his fine performances at the Under-20 World Cup have done little to alter their perception, indeed it has only made them more frustrated. A Golden Ball-winning set of performances en route to England’s historic Under-20 World Cup win have left the Liverpool fans drooling into their pint glasses, whilst the Chelsea fans are getting ready to up and leave.

Indeed, it is a very similar tale on Twitter – with Chelsea fans absolutely fuming that they let the talented goalscorer out of their grasp.
