‘We missed you!’, ‘Welcome back’ – Delighted Man City fans react to club’s injury update

The Manchester City fans were delighted by the return of three first-team players against Basel on Tuesday evening, and they could be set for another boost in the near-future if recent reports are anything to go by.

Pep Guardiola’s side took a huge step towards qualifying for the Champions League quarter finals on Tuesday evening as they dismantled Basel at St Jakob Park to record a 4-0 victory. Ilkay Gundogan scored a brace either side of goals from Bernardo Silva and Sergio Aguero to all but secure City’s place in the next round of the competition.

The Citizens faithful propping up our bar were simply delighted by their side’s performance, but the return of Leroy Sane, David Silva and Fabian Delph was equally as pleasing as the result on an excellent night for the quadruple chasing club.

And the City supporters reacted to further positive news which emerged from The Etihad Stadium yesterday afternoon, as their club’s official Twitter page confirmed that Gabriel Jesus returned to full first-team training yesterday.

Jesus has been missing since New Years Eve with a knee injury he collected against Crystal Palace, and although City have been firing in his absence, the supporters are naturally delighted by his return.

It could still be some time before Jesus makes a full return to first-team football due to the nature of his injury, but that has not deterred the supporters from expressing their delight in response to their club’s Twitter post.

Here’s what the City fans on Twitter have had to say about Jesus’ return…
