‘We need a maestro’ – Arsenal and Liverpool fans demand signing of £18m rated attacker on Twitter

Both the resident Kopites and Gunners in the Transfer Tavern are hoping for the acquisition of new talent by the conclusion of the January transfer window.

Liverpool have been busy in the mid-season window so far as Virgil Van Dijk has arrived at the club in a world-record breaking deal worth £75 million, and Philippe Coutinho has departed Anfield in another huge deal worth £146 million. The departure of Coutinho has concerned plenty of Liverpool supporters who believe that the signing of a replacement will be necessary if the club want to ensure they qualify for the Champions League this season.

One player who has been touted as an ideal replacement for Coutinho is Lyon’s French attacking-midfielder Nabil Fekir (valued at £18 million by Transfermarkt).

The Liverpool fans have been urging Jurgen Klopp to sign the Ligue 1 star since Coutinho’s transfer was confirmed, and those calls were intensified yesterday evening after he opened the scoring with a marvellous free-kick during Les Gones 2-1 victory over Paris Saint-Germain.

However, The Reds faithful are not the only set of supporters calling for his signature after witnessing his goal last night.

Now that the transfer of Alexis Sanchez to Manchester United is almost complete, the Arsenal fans are demanding the acquisition of a replacement this month for the Chile international.

And judging by the reaction of the Gunners on Twitter to Fekir’s performance last night, it seems that they would be delighted to see the French international arrive at The Emirates this month.

Here’s what the Liverpool and Arsenal fans had to say about a potential move for Fekir after his wonder-strike yesterday evening…
