The Arsenal supporters in the Transfer Tavern are eagerly anticipating the arrival of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang before the end of the month.
Arsenal have been rather active in the transfer window so far this month, but the supporters are hoping that Arsene Wenger’s business for the month has not been concluded just yet. The Gunners have already managed to secure the signatures of Konstantinos Mavropanos and Henrik Mkhitaryan whilst Alexis Sanchez has departed the club for Manchester United.
And the final days of the window could provide the club with a huge boost in their bid to return to the Champions League this season, as Arsenal are close to agreeing a deal with Borussia Dortmund for Aubameyang according to the BBC. However, the deal for Aubameyang could pave the way for Chelsea to sign Olivier Giroud on loan from Arsenal before the window slams shut, much to the dismay of the Arsenal supporters.
According to The Daily Mail, Chelsea are lining up a move for Giroud (valued at £18 million by Transfermarkt) in a deal which could be worth as much as £35 million. In response to the reports, the Arsenal fans have taken to Twitter to voice their discontent over the proposed move and urged Wenger to block any potential move to a Premier League rival.
Judging by the response on Twitter, it seems that The Gunners faithful would be furious to see the French international leave the club in any capacity, but it’s his potential destination that’s particularly provoking concern amongst the fanbase.
Here’s what the Arsenal fans had to say about Giroud’s potential move to Chelsea on Twitter…
Walcott, Sanchez gone. Lacazette in the 'red zone'. Aubameyang ineligible. If the club sell Giroud to Chelsea or Dortmund, even for £30m, how will Arsenal mount a serious challenge for the Europa League? Wenger needs players on the pitch not money in the bank

Letting Giroud go shouldn’t be part of any deal. Giroud can be a important part of our season

Totally agree mate, think he's more valuable to us than most fans give him credit for, and last thing we want is to weaken our squad at the minute anyway

Unless it involves one of Kante, Hazard or Courtois coming to us in a swap deal then I fully agree.

No way would I want him joining a rival as we have helped one out already for crying out loud!
— Dean (@CRA88Y) January 29, 2018
Exactly. Why release him to a rival? Absolutely no need.

The idea of Aubameyang and Lacazette warms my heart, but I don’t want to lose Giroud to any deal, and most importantly not to Chelsea.
Can we not like just give Chelsea Welbeck + 15m instead???
— Daddy (@Yemzine) January 29, 2018
Absolutely spot on. Giroud super anyway, Welbeck…

Said it before, will say it again – Letting Giroud go to Chelsea makes no sense. Even if Aubameyang comes in. Would be a totally baffling decision. Loyalty to the player shouldn’t come into it.

Let’s face it Giroud is a quality striker and we need him, how often as he come off the bench and saved us
— Paul Whitfield (@Kelseykeeper) January 29, 2018
Hopefully we do not sell Giroud to Chelsea… this guy is the best sub by a mile and he is a very loyal player so I doubt him going to Chelsea… if he does go then I won't be happy because he has been an incredible player for us
