‘We should expect his sacking soon’ – Man United fans on Twitter react to Mourinho’s update

The Manchester United fans in the Transfer Tavern have been reacting to Jose Mourinho’s comments as he gave the fans some early team news ahead of their home clash with Watford on Sunday. The Portuguese gaffer told the fans that Sergio Romero, Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial would play, as well as captain Michael Carrick, who he already confirmed would start in his last game at Old Trafford. Manchester United drew 0-0 last night in their second ever visit to The London Stadium as they shared a point each with David Moyes’ West Ham. The Hammers put up enough of a fight to secure a point and keep Manchester United’s attacking threat of Alexis Sanchez, Jesse Lingard, Paul Pogba as United kept their 18th clean sheet of the season, winning their Spanish shot-stopper, David De Gea the golden glove for the season.

Manchester United have had an up and down couple of seasons under Mourinho, the ex-Real Madrid and Chelsea manager was appointed in summer 2016 and could win his third major honour since his appointment if they can overcome Chelsea in the FA Cup final on 19th May in just over a week’s time. The FA Cup final is the most likely reason for Mourinho to be resting players, as if anyone suffers an injury against a very physical Watford side, it could put the Red Devils up against for the Chelsea clash.
