Steven Gerrard, Phil Jagielka, Peter Crouch, Robbie Keane, Pepe Reina, the list goes on. The last few years have seen a multitude of Premier League stars fall victim to house burglaries. from medals to money, jewellery to sports cars, not much has been spared. With such a high number of victims to choose from, picking a top three was a hard task but we gave it a go anyway.
Jerzy Dudek – Liverpool’s hero in Istanbul 2005. The robbery took place in 2006 at his home in the Wirral, where the items stolen included…..wait for it….. Premiership and international shirts, a World Cup Final shirt from 2002, a Worthington Cup Final Shirt, a pair of World Cup Final goalkeeper gloves, Uefa Super Cup medal, a Worthington Cup medal, a Cartier watch, a gold Omega watch, a Gucci, a Frank Muller and a Rolex. Thankfully, most of the items were returned.
Andy van der Meyde – The former Everton midfielder was also burgled in 2006. Items stolen included eight Rolexes, a Mini Cooper, a Ferrari and…….a puppy.
The puppy was returned…..Van der Meyde got robbed again four months later. Not much luck for the Dutchman during his time on Merseyside was there?
Duncan Ferguson – Some clueless individual only decided to rob Big Dunc’s house whilst he was home. The robber was attempting to steal CD’s and Champagne in the burglary in 2001. Ferguson didn’t take too kindly. And so…. he detained one of them, who then spent three days in hospital. Lesson learned.Like what the TT have on offer? Sign up for more notifications!
