Week In Pictures – Arsenal take possession football to another level

The bar area is packed today as punters enjoy their Bank Holiday Monday spent in the Football Transfer Tavern watching the lower league football on show.

An Arsenal supporter has caused quite a commotion after pinning a printed screenshot onto the noticeboard. New Reading manager Nigel Adkins certainly has a tough job on his hands to keep Reading up but we think he would have expected his side to at least get some of the ball during their game at the Emirates Stadium. The picture shows how in the 4-1 victory against Reading on Saturday, Arsene Wenger’s team had an incredible 95 per cent possession during a five minute spell.

Possession football is the name of the game for Arsene Wenger’s Arsenal side but on Saturday they seemed to have taken it to another level altogether.

However at the time, somehow, the Gunners were only leading 1-0 thanks to much-maligned striker Gervinho. It seems that some things never change with Arsenal unable to convert their possession into more than one goal. They of course went on to put some gloss onto the scoreline heaping the pressure on Chelsea who were unable to win away at Southampton.
