Thursday 13th March 2013 was a hugely important day for the Catholic Church with the new Pope – Argentina’s Cardinal Jorge Mario Bergoglio (Pope Francis) – being unveiled, but we at Football Transfer Tavern prefer an alternative version of events.
Ever since his ridiculous tracksuit debacle at the Champions League final in Munich last season, John Terry has been credited with all sorts of accolades whereby he gatecrashes numerous stellar proceedings. If you believe what you see, Chelsea captain Terry is now the President of the United States, a Superbowl victor, a member of One Direction and now – the new Pope.
The photshopped images of Terry don’t seem to get old, unlike the man himself who has dropped down the pecking order at Stamford Bridge under the hugely unpopular Rafael Benitez.
With odds of 1000/1 to become the next Pope last week, not many could have seen this coming but surely there is no better man to lead a religious group than the ever faithful John Terry.
