Arsenal supporters have endured a tough time in recent seasons, but tomorrow is set to be one of the toughest.
Gunners fans are going to be forced to endure their side applauding newly crowned champions Manchester United onto the Emirates Stadium pitch on Sunday afternoon, as well as welcoming back a certain Robin van Persie.
The Dutchman left Arsenal fans heartbroken in the summer by making the switch to Old Trafford, but his goals and United’s subsequent title win meant the decision was justified.
And sadly for Arsenal, he’s not the first to do so as this picture below shows. van Persie has joined Thierry Henry, Cesc Fabregas, Emmanuel Adebayor, Kolo Toure, Gael Clichy, and Samir Nasri on the list of players to leave the Emirates and land a major trophy almost immediately after.
You can’t help but wonder what Arsenal might have achieved themselves if they had managed to hold on to even half of these stars. You would have thought Wenger may have clocked on before United came calling last summer, but sadly for Arsenal fans that was not the case – and tomorrow they must all suffer the consequences.
