The Manchester City fans in the Transfer Tavern have been reacting to comments from Napoli’s influential Italian midfielder, Jorginho. The Napoli man, who started in the club’s 4-2 loss at home to City in the Champions League group stages last year, has welcomed praise for Manchester City’s “iconic” manager, Pep Guardiola. The Italian made the comments via ESPN and it’s led a number of City fans to believe that he’s on his way to The Etihad.
Napoli currently sit 2nd in the Serie A table, just two points behind Italian giants, Juventus. I Ciucciarelli have impressed a number of neutrals this season with their impressive style of football as they’ve scored an incredible 63 goals in the league this season whilst conceding just 19. A number of players in the senior squad have been linked with moves away from the Stadio San Paulo as some of Europe’s biggest clubs have had their heads turned by the performances being put in by the likes of Lorenzo Insigne, Marek Hamsik, Allan and Jorginho.
Manchester City have long been linked with Jorginho as he fits the mould of a “Pep Guardiola player.” The 26-year-old, who started in central midfield at Wembley yesterday in Italy’s 1-1 draw with England, has developed a reputation for being an incredible passer of the footballer and never looks uncomfortable in possession. This has led our resident Citizens to tout the classy midfielder of being their ideal replacement for 32-year-old Fernandinho as their club’s anchoring midfielder.

Show a little more gratitude by signing for us

Not against the idea of signing him. But he is more of a Busquets style player. Provides better passing and control in the midfield, especially against worse teams in regular games. But in big games we probably need a more energetic player who is able to protect the defence.
