The Manchester City fans in the Transfer Tavern are growing impatient as rumours continue to circulate regarding both Riyad Mahrez and Jorginho, but recent reports from the Daily Mirror have given them reason to believe that a conclusion is on the horizon.
Considering City’s interest in the Algerian ace was first documented during the January transfer window, it’s easy to sympathise with the frustration of supporters who are eager for their club to wrap up a deal. For the majority of the year so far there have been plenty of reports claiming Patrick Roberts could move to Leicester as part of the deal, and it seems that the 21-year-old will indeed move in the opposite direction.
According to the Daily Mirror, Roberts will join the Foxes in a deal worth £10 million to smooth the imminent deal for Mahrez, and the City supporters on Twitter seem to believe the report is a telling indication that they are set to finally seal a deal.
With Leroy Sane and Raheem Sterling the only natural wide players currently residing in Pep Guardiola’s squad there’s no doubt that Mahrez’s arrival will be a huge boost to the club’s title ambitions ahead of the new season.
Not only will Mahrez inject devastating trickery, speed and a quality end-product into the City squad, he will bring a level of versatility which will allow Guardiola to experiment with different combinations in the final-third, so it’s no wonder the supporters are eagerly anticipating an official announcement from the club.
However, the City fans have been far less complimentary of Roberts whom they believe has lacked the ambition and determination to succeed in the Premier League thus far.
Here’s what the Man City fans have had to say on Twitter in response to the latest Mahrez update…

Just do the Maths, we wanted £25m for Roberts, Leicester wanted £75m for Mahrez, Mahrez = £60m, Roberts = £10m, A good deal for both clubs.
