The Manchester City fans were feeling slightly disappointed in the Transfer Tavern this weekend after they drew 1-1 with Burnley at Turf Moor.
Manchester City’s lead at the summit of the Premier League table was cut to 13 points this weekend after they only managed to claim a point from their clash with Burnley. It appeared to be business as usual for City when Danilo curled in an exquisite strike from the edge of Burnley’s area to put The Citizens in command in Lancashire, but The Clarets were in characteristically resolute form at the back and restricted Guardiola’s side to the single goal all afternoon.
Raheem Sterling missed a glorious opportunity to put the game beyond Burnley in the second-half as he somehow fluffed his effort wide of Nick Pope’s goal after Kyle Walker laid the ball on a silver platter for him to tap City’s killer second into an empty goal.
Johan Gudmundsson punished City for their missed opportunity in the 82nd minute to ensure the spoils were shared between the two sides, but the result looks unlikely to make a difference to City’s title bid this season.
City have been lauded throughout the footballing world so far this season for their sheer dominance in the English top-flight, and their enormous points advantage over Manchester United should be plenty to ensure a comfortable finale to their league campaign.
The latest figure to acknowledge City’s brilliance this season is their ex-employee Jerome Boateng who recently proclaimed his admiration for both City and Pep Guardiola in an interview with Goal.
Jerome Boateng on City and Pep: "He’s brilliant. For me, tactically, he is the best. This season City bought a lot of good players. They have a lot of money. Now you see more that it’s his team. They play very good football. It’s beautiful to watch." [Goal]

In response to Boateng’s comments, the City fans were eager to call for the German international to return to the club where he struggled to make an impact under Roberto Mancini.
However, considering his development since he left the Etihad, it is easy to understand why the supporters are so enticed by the idea of seeing Boateng in a City shirt once again.
Here’s what the City fans had to say about Boateng on Twitter following his comments concerning their club…

Boateng is a TANK! I've seen this guy play and he's one of the best defenders out there. And he's not really as injury prone as Kompany…
