The Liverpool fans in the Transfer Tavern remain upbeat about their chances of signing Lyon’s talented French attacker, Nabil Fekir. Olympique Lyonnais tweeted today that they can deny that Fekir is close to a move to Liverpool, despite the fact that a number of media outlets are reporting that he is, even with this news though, the Reds won’t be distracted as they want Fekir at Anfield.
Les informations sur le transfert de Nabil Fekir sont fausses.

Despite what is an obvious setback, the Reds undying optimism that they will end up with Fekir is something to behold. Whilst there’s no doubting that every club side in the world would benefit from having Fekir on their payroll, the fact that Lyon seem reluctant to sell and given the strength that Liverpool have in their current front three makes them one of the world’s best attacking forced, it would be a surprise to see the player leave so soon.
If Fekir does up stakes and ends up on Merseyside, he will most likely play a similar role that Philippe Coutinho played before he left for Barcelona in January. Jurgen Klopp will most likely use the Frenchman to provide rotation to his current front three of Sadio Mane, Mo Salah and Roberto Firmino. The fact that Fekir can slot into any of Klopp’s positions in his front three and even in behind the striker in the number ten position can make him a vital cog in the Liverpool machine.
