‘Well done’, ‘Delighted’ – Rangers fans on Twitter happy with club’s agreement reveal

The Rangers fans in the Transfer Tavern have been congratulating Myles Beerman and Brian Kinnear on their contract extensions. The pair are both in the Ibrox academy system and could be making their breakthrough into the senior squad this season following the renewal of their deals in Glasgow.

The Gers propping our bar up believe they’ve turned a corner now with the appointment of Steven Gerrard on Friday. The club has suffered an abysmal season with them being knocked out of Europe early, sacking Pedro Caixinha in October and the failing to replace him properly until May. In that time between Caixinha’s sacking and Gerrard’s appointment, the club have slipped into a battle for 2nd with Aberdeen and Hibs and look a million miles away from the quality that Celtic possess.

With Liverpool legend Stevie G at the helm and funds supposedly being made available for the 37-year-old in summer, our local Bluenoses could have reason to be excited. Although, the most likely outcome will be the former England captain looking to build the club up from inside. Gerrard’s last two years have been spent nurturing Liverpool’s young talent in the form of their U18 side. With the gaffer’s experience in youth, it would be no shock to see him turn to the Glasgow club’s academy for inspiration.
