Wenger handed timely boost over key overhaul target

The Arsenal fans here in the Football Transfer Tavern have had a surprisingly positive air about them this summer. Usually around the time the desperate nagging for a world-class striker begins, however, there seems some hope about them this year.

To add to their high spirits, apart from the fact it’s Friday and Happy Hour isn’t too far away, reports have reached the bar that Gunners boss Arsene Wenge has had some good news over on of his key targets.

Earlier this week reports claimed that the Frenchman was eyeing a move for the trio of Kylian Mbappe, Thomas Lemar and Alexandre Lacazette as part of a huge attacking overhaul, with Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil potentially on their way out.

With that in mind, the print edition of L’Equipe (via Get French Football) are claiming that one of Wenger’s targets, Monaco’s Lemar, is holding off on any contract talk due to the interest from north London.

Whilst there has been no formal approach yet, our landlord reckons that given he’s already considering his options a deal should be more than achievable for the Gunners.

Arsenal fans, we want to hear from you! How highly do you rate Lemar? Will Wenger be able to land all three? Let us know in the comments below…
