Wenger likely to stand firm as club reportedly eye move for Arsenal ace

The Arsenal fans in the Transfer Tavern are hoping that Laurent Koscielny stays with the club for some time yet…

Though he is now the wrong side of 30, the defender has maintained a very solid level of form in recent years, having established himself as one of Arsenal’s most important players. Indeed, ahead of a testing season for the club – with Arsene Wenger tasked with turning the ship around – Koscielny’s role is going to be as important as ever. c

That will not be something that Italian side AC Milan want to hear, though, with Telefoot reporting that the Italian giants are keen on a move for Koscielny. With the side keen to improve their fortunes ahead of next season, Koscielny is said to have peaked their interest. In news that will likely come as music to the ears of the Arsenal fans in the pub, though, Wenger is said to view the Frenchman as a key player – and provided that the Frenchman is given regular game time, a move seems unlikely at this point.

Of course, this has pleased the Arsenal fans in the Transfer Tavern, with the influence of Koscielny undeniable for the Gunners. Strong, technical and consistent – he has all the makings of a top central defender.

Indeed, for Arsenal, there needs to be a priority on incoming players rather than outgoing ones, with the Gunners likely desperate to bounce back after a poor season last year.
