Given all the talk of his client making a move during the transfer window, the agent of Moroccan international Maroune Chamakh must have been looking forward to a rest. However, sources at the Daily Mail would indicate that there is no rest for the wicked and that Arsenal are likely to “snatch” the Bordeaux hitman for a cut-price £1.5m deal.
Even though Serie A giants Juventus are still in the running, the Daily Mail states it is the players desire to move to London that will seal the deal; although long term interested party and Premier League rivals West Ham United may consider themselves still in with a shout.
The low-cost of the deal is unlikely to wow many Arsenal fans given how much money the club raked in from the sale of Emmanuel Adebayor but if one man knows how to spend wisely in the transfer market, it is Arsene Wenger.
Will this deal raise the spirits at the Emirates or leave the Arsenal fans flatter than a day old pint of bitter? Is Wenger going to splash the cash on another striker? Is this transfer rumour likely to fly or die?
