Wenger: This player was very good against Chelsea and he is perfect for the Premier League

The Arsenal fans in the Transfer Tavern are desperate for the new season to start…

The Gunners have had a strong pre-season and with a decent win against Chelsea now behind them, things are looking good ahead of the new campaign.

One aspect of Arsenal’s summer that is looking particularly good is the signing of Sead Kolasinac, who was instrumental for the Gunners against the Blues. He came on during the game and went on to score the equalising goal, producing a fantastic performance all the while.

Following the game, Wenger spoke to the Evening Standard about his performance, and he described it as “outstanding”.

Elaborating on why he was signed, he said: “There are players who are pumped up in the gym and players who are born strong. He is the second part…We took him as well because of his attitude… you always need a combination of talent and attitude”.

Wenger clearly views him as the perfect signing, and it’s hard to argue with that logic. He was very good against Chelsea, and the goal that he scored will be a¬†massive confidence booster for the defender.

Landlord’s Verdict

Kolasinac’s signing went under the radar somewhat, but it is quickly beginning to look like quite the coup from the Gunners.

He looks man made for the Premier League: strong, athletic, quick and agile, the defender really impressed.

He may not start at the beginning of the campaign, but his performance against the Blues will certainly stand him in good stead ahead of a very challenging season.
