Arsenal fans are looking up towards our landlord here in the Football Transfer Tavern as he reports that Metro seem to think that Lukas Podolski may have a future at Arsenal after all.
The forward has been heavily linked with a move away from north London in recent months, yet may have just convinced his manager to keep hold of him – and even play him a little bit more.
After the match winning goal scored by the German, Wenger was full of praise and even hinted that the forward could be kept at the club – and handed a vital role, despite his unhappiness in recent months.
He claimed: ‘Lukas is frustrated and I understand that, but he’s never been close to leaving,
‘He will be important in the coming months – it took him a while to get back to a good physical level after the World Cup, but now he’s nearly there.’
Of course, should Podolski stay at the club and still find his game time limited, at least he has his social media accounts to keep him occupied when he sits on the bench!
