‘We’re going to rue this so much, aren’t we?’ – Arsenal fans reflect as former player makes big move

The Arsenal fans in the Transfer Tavern had pretty high hopes for Serge Gnabry…

The German-born winger impressed when given an opportunity for the Gunners, though rarely was he afforded much of a chance. He made just 10 league appearances during a four-year spell in the Gunners’ first team, leaving many in the pub wondering why.

After all, he was a young, exciting and talented winger, and his potential was clear for all to see.

However, having failed to make an impression, the winger eventually left the club, leaving our landlord in a state of shock.

Since the move, he has proved the Gunners wrong – impressing for Werder Bremen in the 2016-17 season. He scored 11 league goals throughout the course of the year, proving to the Arsenal fans in the Transfer Tavern just how talented he really is.

Now, a year after leaving Arsenal, the winger has finally got his big break. German giants Bayern Munich have confirmed that they have agreed a deal to sign the German. Clearly, a side as impressive as Bayern would only ever sign top quality talent, and so Arsene Wenger will likely be rueing his mistake.

Similarly, the Arsenal fans on the ‘Gunners’ Subreddit are feeling the same way, with some fans particularly concerned that their side will regret letting him go.

See what they had to say below…
