West Brom and Burnley fans in the Football Transfer Tavern are set for an intense few weeks as they are both fighting for the same defender.
According to talkSPORT, the Baggies and the Clarets are both pursuing Leeds United’s vice-captain Liam Cooper.
The 24-year-old has had to concentrate on his football, despite the Whites’ turbulent issues off of the field and he has impressed enough to drum up interest from the Premier League.
He arrived at Elland Road two years ago from Chesterfield for a fee of £600,000 and Leeds’ new boss Gary Monk is desperate to keep hold of the defender, as he hopes build a partnership between Cooper and his new arrival Kyle Bartley.
Leeds will be confident of seeing off interest as Cooper has two years remaining on his current contract, but they will not be able to stand in his way if he wishes to make the step up to the Premier League.
