West Brom fans in the Football Transfer Tavern are urging the club to get this deal over the line as they are desperate to see fresh faces at the Hawthorns.
According to MailOnline, the Baggies have responded to interest from fellow Premier League clubs and tabled a £21 million bid for Sporting Lisbon striker Islam Slimani.
The 28-year-old has been in fine form in recent years and has banged in 56 goals in three seasons for the Portuguese side.
Arsenal were thought to have been leading the chase for the forward, but it appears that The Baggies have been the first to react.
It is believed Everton and Swansea are also both readying bids, but it appears that West Brom have beaten them to the punch with an impressive bid for the player.
Tony Pulis has been chasing a striker all summer, with Saido Berahino’s future continuing to be in serious doubt as the transfer window edges closer to finishing.
