As West Brom once again prepare for another year in the Premier League, all eyes will be on them to see if they can continue to build into a successful and permanent fixture in the top flight.
In Tony Pulis, the Baggies have an excellent manager who is capable of getting the very best out of his players on a regular basis, despite not being one of the huge spenders among the elite in England.
The West Brom fans here in the Tavern are always a friendly bunch, and our landlord this week has been enjoying a few beers with them, discussing all things transfer related and how next season might go for the club.
One player who has been brought up in those conversations this week is current Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere, who seems to be heading into a bit of a lull in his career.
A season with Bournemouth last year got him some much needed game time in the top flight, and a move this summer on a more permanent basis is looking more and more likely as the transfer window draws on.
A move to West Brom could be ideal for Wilshere, with the chance to work under someone like Pulis potentially something which could reignite the England midfielder’s career.
There is no doubting Wilshere is a tremendous talent, but injury and some off field ill discipline has seemingly cost him his career with the Gunners, and a move to the Hawthorns and a fresh start with the Baggies could well give him the much needed boost his career needs.
West Brom fans, what do you think? Good signing? Let us know!
