West Brom eyeing double deal to kick off 2017

According to The Express & Star, West Brom are hoping to sign Darren Fletcher and Chris Brunt onto new contracts after the Christmas period.

The news has been welcomed by our Baggies fans here in the Transfer Tavern who are feeling as positive as they have for a long time about their club.

After initially worrying this season about where Tony Pulis might be able to take them past mid-table safety, they are now dreaming of a challenge for the European spots.

Indeed, as it stands, they’re looking good to do just that with their latest win at the weekend over Watford lifting them into seventh, a solitary point behind Manchester United.

Players like Matt Phillips and Salomon Rondon have impressed during their run whilst Brunt and Fletcher have also been key figures not just this season, but over the last few years.

And now it looks as though they will be rewarded with the offer to extend their respective stays at The Hawthorns.

Our landlord thinks the Baggies should get both signed on as quick as possible, too, because you simply can’t find their levels of professionalism that easily in the current market.
