West Bromwich Albion fans in the Transfer Tavern will be drowning their sorrows after the disappointing Premier League campaign their side has endured this season and will be looking for the club to bounce back next year.
The Baggies are expected to head down to the Championship and are expecting to lose a number of their main stars, so chiefs have already started planning to bring in new recruits. According to HITC Sport, the Hawthorns outfit have identified a defender who knows the division well.
The media outlet are claiming West Brom are tracking Preston North End’s Greg Cunningham, who is set to enter the final year of his current deal at Deepdale and it is believed no new contract has been agreed.
The left-back has become one of the Championship’s most reliable defenders over the past couple of seasons and the Baggies, who are believed to compete with Fulham, are willing to test the Lancashire-based club’s resolve.
West Brom fans in the Tavern will be concerned with the number of departures from the club in the summer, although news that the club are already looking at recruits will ease the fears. Should the Republic of Ireland international sign, then the punters will be able to look forward to one area of their defence becoming solid.
