West Brom prepare for Cort

Stoke City defender is on the verge of a big move to West Bromich Albion according to The Daily Mirror. The 30 year old has yet to make an appearance this season for the Potters and Tony Pulis is said to accept £750,000 to complete the permanent move.

However Roberto Di Matteo faces stiff competition from Championship duo Newcastle United, Middlesbrough and Ipswich, but the West Brom manager is said to be leading way. Di Matteo sees Cort as a great boost to his side’s quest to return to the Premier League, his experience will set them in good stead to have a strong finish in the Championship.

Cort has become disillusioned with life at Stoke City as he has not been able to break the partnership of Ryan Shawcross and Abdoulaye Faye, and Cort is further down the pecking order behind Danny Higginbotham and Robert Huth is eager to move before the January transfer window closes.
