West Brom fans have been celebrating the record signing of Solomon Rondon with a few pints in the Football Transfer Tavern this week, but reports emerging from the Telegraph suggests next week they could be drowning their sorrows.
One punter notes that Tottenham’s sale of Roberto Soldado has them on the lookout for a striker, with Baggies frontman Saido Berahino said to be their top target.
Berahino fired 20 goals for West Brom last season, form that caught the interest of a number of top Premier League clubs.
And following the sale of Soldado, Tottenham are ready to launch a £15million bid for the England Under-21 international.
The feeling around Tottenham is that they can land the 22-year-old for £20million, but chairman Daniel Levy is keen to negotiate as ever.
Our resident Baggies fans here in the Transfer Tavern admit they are desperate to keep hold of the striker, but feel it is inevitable that he will go now!
