According to The Sun, West Brom will attempt to sign Rudy Gestede in the January transfer window from Aston Villa, though they will likely face competition from Hull City for the forward.
The powerful Championship striker has three goals from seven starts for the Villans this season and Pulis evidently feels that he can prise him away from their Midlands rivals with the Baggies aiming to build on what they have.
Indeed, our resident Albion fans here in the Transfer Tavern have enjoyed the start to this season with them having a number of good performances so far.
Wins away at Leicester City and at home to West Ham and Burnley have all caught the eye as the Baggies seem to be looking for a more attacking edge under Tony Pulis this year.
Signing Gestede would support that, then, as the Welsh manager looks for support for Salomon Rondon up front.
He may have to enter a bidding war, though, with Hull also looking for striking reinforcements as they battle relegation from the Premier League this season.
The two sides met only at the weekend and played out a 1-1 draw leaving the Tigers in 18th and the Baggies in ninth.
