West Brom supporters in the Football Transfer Tavern are looking forward to their first full season under Tony Pulis, especially if reports emerging from talkSPORT are to be believed.
The reports claim the Baggies have joined Arsenal in the race to sign £11million-rated Anderlecht midfielder Dennis Praet.
The 21-year-old is considered to be one of the brightest prospects in Belgian football, and has already been called up to their talented senior side.
This news has certainly caused a number of spilled pints here in the Transfer Tavern and our landlord had his say as usual, “This Belgian star looks like a top, top player, and if the Baggies managed to beat Arsenal to his signature, it could turn out to be a massive deal that would undoubtedly please fans of the Midlands outfit!”
Tony Pulis is understood to have sent scouts to watch Praet towards the back end of last season, and is now hoping he can lure the playmaker to the Midlands with the offer of guaranteed first team football.
Reports in Belgium suggest Anderlecht – who have already sold star players Alexsander Mitrovic and Chancel Mbemba to Newcastle United during this transfer window – would be willing to let Praet go for a fee of £11million.
Arsenal have held a long term interest in the player, but their battle for places in midfield could make West Brom a more attractive option for the young star.
A number of Baggies fans here in the Tavern completely agree with our landlord, and feel it would be a massive signal of intent!
