According to The Mirror, West Brom are looking at signing Leeds United full-back Charlie Taylor in the January transfer window, with our resident Baggies fans here in the Transfer Tavern hoping they can get the deal through for the exciting young prospect….
The left-sided defender has impressed for Leeds in recent months and has been a big part of their playoff charge this season – but it appears that their success could come at a price.
The report suggests the Midlands side will offer £5 million for the defender in January once the transfer window opens to test the Whites’ resolve – but could also face competition from Stoke and Everton for the player.
The men from the Hawthorns have, in recent weeks, been playing Allan Nyom down the left-side as a makeshift solution for that role – but that is only a temporary option.
That switch came about because on-loan left-back Brendan Galloway has so far failed to impress and so Tony Pulis clearly feels he needs a more permanent option in that area.
Our landlord thinks that Taylor could be a good option, despite his relative lack of experience.
