West Brom had yet another solid campaign in the Premier League last season, and they have firmly assured their status as one of the top flight’s regulars over recent years following a few yoyo seasons.
Manager Tony Pulis has built a solid team around consummate professionals, and the next task will be for him to try and take the Baggies to the next level and challenge for Europe.
The Baggies fans here in the Tavern can be a rowdy bunch, and this week has been no different. However, beyond all the singing, there has been some serious conversation centred around summer signings and what the club need.
Our landlord thinks a bit more pace in attacking areas would be ideal, and with that in mind, he thinks a move for Derby forward Tom Ince could be perfect.
The Derby man was once again one of the standout performers in the second tier last year, and he is constantly linked with moves to the Premier League where he will no doubt be able to showcase his talent to the world.
Ince has bags of ability, is two footed, and can play across all four attacking positions if needed. At 25, he should be about to enter his prime over the next few years, and the time could be prime for him to make his move to the Premier League.
West Brom could utilise Ince superbly, and he would add some real depth and quality to the attacking ranks at the Hawthorns with his crowd pleasing style of play.
