West Brom suffer transfer blow as Pulis continues search for quality options

Our West Brom fans here in the Transfer Tavern are keen to see investment made in this window but, according to The Birmingham Mail, Fabian Delph will not be part of that.

West Brom have been going very well this season and are well in contention to qualify for Europe this year.

You feel, though, that a few more players are needed to sustain that challenge with the likes of Everton around and so this news should come as a pretty significant blow to Tony Pulis’ plans.

The report claims that the Baggies did enquire about taking the former Aston Villa midfielder away from Man City but it now appears that his current club want to keep hold of him for now.

City have had a pretty poor campaign up until now with many at the start of the season expecting them to win the league.

Instead they’ve been plagued by poor defensive displays and a lot of injuries causing Pep Guardiola to consider Delph for more first team football for the rest of the season.

How big a miss will Delph prove to be, West Brom fans? Let us know below!
