West Bromwich Albion fans in the Football Transfer Tavern are becoming a bit impatient with James Morrison who has been offered a new contract with the club, but is seeking a move away to hometown outfit Middlesbrough.
Now according to the Birmingham Mail, it looks as though the newly promoted Premier League side will go toe to toe with the Baggies in the race to sign Lyon defender Henri Bedimo.
An injury hit season meant the 31-year-old made 22 appearances for the impressive Ligue 1 side who managed a second place finish, though newly appointed technical director Nick Hammond is reportedly still keen on bringing the defender to the Midlands.
The Cameroonian international is to believed to have been offered a new contract with Les Gones though his signature is understood to be widely contested across the continent, with high flying Nantes opening up talks with the players representatives.
Lille, Rennes and Besiktas are also said to be monitoring the situation.
Still, it is claimed a move to the more glamorous Premier League is in the player’s interests.
