Deal Close: Arsenal man set to depart the Emirates and join Premier League side

Metro claim that Mathieu Debuchy’s wishes will be granted and he will leave Arsenal in January, moving on-loan to West Brom until the end of the season.

Debuchy has lost his first-team spot to the excellent Hector Bellerin and is desperate to land regular first-team football in the second-half of the season, as he looks to increase his chances of making France’s squad for the European Championships.

Arsenal are reluctant to lose the player, who is seen as vital cover as the Gunners continue to fight on three fronts, but understand Debuchy’s desire to succeed on the international front- as the summer’s tournament will likely be the last chance for the 30-year-old.

The Gunners signed Debuchy in 2014 from Newcastle United, as a replacement for Manchester City-bound Bacary Sagna, but the French international has struggled with injury problems since.
