West Bromwich Albion poised to smash their transfer record

RondonWest Brom fans in the Football Transfer Tavern are excited by the reports emerging from the Birmingham Mail, which claim the Baggies are set to smash their transfer record for the third consecutive summer.

Tony Pulis is said to be in the market for Zenit St Petersburg forward Salomon Rondon, a player who has previously attracted attention from both Liverpool and Arsenal.

The 25-year-old is rated at around £15million, having fired 28 goals in 57 games for the Russian outfit, with reports suggesting he already has a medical booked with the Midlands club.,

Tony Pulis is still chasing reinforcements ahead of their season opener with Manchester City on Monday night.

Rickie Lambert has already signed from Liverpool, whilst there have been no offers for Saido Berahino – despite reported interest from Tottenham.

However, Venezuelan international Rondon would provide stern competition for places at the Hawthorns.

A group of Baggies fans over by the pool table feel this would be an excellent signing for the club, and feel he is the sort of player the club need to be recruiting this summer!
