There is now less than a week remaining in the transfer window, and West Brom fans in the Football Transfer Tavern think the end can’t come soon enough.
As one punter explains, it is because the Baggies are desperately trying to hold onto main man Saido Berahino before the window shuts, with Tottenham desperate to secure the signing of the England under-21 international.
And sources at Sky Sports claim that Tony Pulis’ side have been forced to reject a second offer for the 22-year-old, who impressed with 20 goals in all competitions last season.
Spurs had an £18million bid for Berahino rejected earlier in the month, and have returned with a package closer to £21million, only to see it rejected once more by the Baggies.
Berahino was left out of the West Brom squad for Sunday’s defeat to Chelsea, and was understood to have submitted a written transfer request following the game.
West Brom are understood to be holding out for £25million for the highly rated striker, and with six days of the window remaining it is anyone’s guess who will come out on top in this transfer tug of war.
