West Bromwich Albion supporters in the Football Transfer Tavern are desperate to see their side hold onto Saido Berahino from now until the end of the transfer window, with our landlord admitting a £20 million move to Tottenham is looking increasingly likely.
But that has not stopped the Baggies planning to splash further cash, with reports at the Daily Star claiming Tony Pulis has rekindled his interest in Manchester United outcast Jonny Evans.
The Northern Irishman has been told he is not part of Louis van Gaal’s first team plans, with Stoke City, Everton and the Baggies all keen on offering him regular first team Premier League football.
The £12million asking price may well prove a stumbling block however, with the Baggies having just splashed the same amount to bring club record signing Solomon Rondon to the Hawthorns.
But as our landlord notes, with Berahino perhaps on the way shortly, this may well be a move that comes to life in the closing stages of the transfer window.
