West Brom fans had to down a few pints in the Football Transfer Tavern on Saturday to make their goalless draw at Norwich City seem more exciting, and they may have to do the same again following these reports from the Telegraph.
The publication has got Baggies fans worried with reports that Tottenham are ready to bid £15million for star man Saido Berahino, whilst manager Tony Pulis is also ready to listen to offers for Joleon Lescott, Victor Anichebe, Brown Ideye and Stephane Sessegnon.
Pulis has made it clear he values Berahino at £25million, but Tottenham remain confident of landing the England under-21 international for less.
That is because Pulis is also looking to add some further new faces before the close of the transfer window, with Cardiff City’s £5million rated goalkeeper David Marshall a target.
“We need to change things, the chairman knows we need to improve in certain areas quickly,” said Pulis.
“It’s going to be a busy couple of weeks for us and we want to bring quite a few more in, while there are also going to be people leaving. If we can do the business we want, we will surprise people.”
A plethora of Baggies fans enjoying a pint over by the billiards table here in the Tavern are very, very worried at this news – with all of them agreeing that if they sell more players, the core of their team will crumble, and they could turn into relegation fodder!
