West Bromwich Albion tell Tottenham Hotspur to raise offer to £25 million for striker

berahino4The future of Saido Berahino is set to be a topic discussed often here in the Football Transfer Tavern over the next couple of weeks, with Tottenham having set their sights on the man who fired 20 goals for West Bromwich Albion last season.

Spurs have offloaded Spanish flop Roberto Soldado in the hope of raising funds to sign the England under-21 striker, but reports from the Independent suggest he may prove more expensive than first thought.

Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy is notorious for being careful with his money, but the Baggies remain adamant that Berahino won’t leave the Hawthorns for less than a massive £25million.

Tony Pulis has made it clear he wants to keep the talented young striker at the club, but admitted that a massive offer would prove difficult to turn down.

Tottenham are understood to have offered £18million for the 22-year-old, but the Baggies want to see an increase of £7million if they are to part with their star man between now and the close of the transfer window.

Our resident Spurs fans enjoying a pint in the Tavern feel that Berahino would be a cracking signing, with them all agreeing he is only going to get better!
