West Brom fans in the Football Transfer Tavern are disappointed with their opening day defeat to Manchester City, but may be about to be boosted by the signing of an experienced Premier League left back.
The Liverpool Echo reports that Reds outcast Jose Enrique is set to become the latest player to move to the Hawthorns, just days after the Baggies broke their transfer record to sign striker Solomon Rondon.
Enrique has barely featured for Liverpool over the past two seasons, and has been told he has no future at Anfield by manager Brendan Rodgers, and reports suggest the deal is set to be completed ‘within days.’
The Spaniard was left out of the club’s pre-season tour in favour of teenager Joe Maguire, and looks set to follow Rickie Lambert in swapping Anfield for the Hawthorns.
Tony Pulis is looking to add a left back to his squad, having played midfielder Chris Brunt in that position towards the end of last season, and during the opening game defeat to City on Monday night.
A group of Baggies fan here in the Tavern feel that Enrique still has a lot to give, and are hoping that Pulis can pull of this deal!
