Craig Dawson and Nacer Chadli still in West Brom’s plans

Craig Dawson and Nacer Chadli still in West Brom’s plans

West Bromwich Albion have no plans to let a couple of their key players leave the club during the remainder of the transfer window.

According to a report in the Birmingham Mail, Darren Moore has insisted that Craig Dawson and Nacer Chadli both remain in his plans as he looks to get the Baggies back to the Premier League.

Both players missed their League Cup victory over Luton Town on Tuesday evening, however, the manager stated that he was not prepared to risk them and is waiting for them to be physically right for the long season ahead.

“They are both back in full training and getting nearer to where we want them to be,” he told the Birmingham Mail.

“This Championship season is a marathon not a sprint.

“Rather than risk them early for a game, we want to make sure they are physically right to join back in with the squad.

“It’s just a matter of time before we hopefully see them back in the squad.

“Myself and all the fans should be looking forward to when both players are back in the squad and competing for a place.”

The Verdict:

Moore’s comments suggest that the players will have key roles to play for West Brom as they look to get back to the Premier League.

However, there will be concerns about the duo’s mindsets as both have been heavily linked with moves away from the club and have both expressed desires to leave.

West Brom will know they will need to keep some of their stars to have any chance of playing top-flight football next season and will be hoping Dawson and Chadli can produce the goods on the field.
