Darren Moore admits he would have liked more signings

West Bromwich Albion boss Darren Moore has revealed that he would have liked to have made a couple more additions before last Friday’s transfer deadline.

According to a report in The Express and Star, the Baggies boss stated that he had tried to get more players into the Hawthorns and admitted it was one of the toughest windows he has been involved with.

“This transfer window has been one of the toughest transfer windows I’ve known,” he told the media outlet.

“We tried [to sign more players] but it’s important not just to get any player in for the sake of it.”

Despite not being able to add another couple of players to his squad, Moore did admit that he was happy with what he has at his disposal already.

“The transfer window closed with us not bringing in any more players, but we’re quite happy with the squad the way it is,” he added.

“If we can keep them all fit and keep improving them and keep building on performances then we’ll be happy.”

The Baggies did bring eight new additions to the club this summer, although seven went through the exit door.

The Verdict:

West Brom did not have as bad as a summer as many would have predicted following their relegation from the Premier League.

The club did lose a number of their high-profile players, whilst keeping some of the key men, although their recruitment appears to have been spot on as well.

The Baggies have won five of their last six games, and Moore will be looking for his side to continue that fine form once the international break is finished.
