According to The Sun, Wolves are set to sign Adama Traore from Middlesbrough in a deal worth £18 million.
The arrival of Traore could potentially leave Molineux overstocked with wingers. Helder Costa, Diogo Jota, and Ivan Cavaleiro are already on the books at Wolves, and with the inclusion of the Boro man, that would leave Nuno Espirito Santo with four players, all vying for starts, to choose from.
Each one of the aforementioned will feel their performances in recent times are deserving of inclusion in the starting line up, but someone will have to miss out. Despite his excellent performances last season in the Championship, Cavaleiro is the one most likely to tumble down the pecking order.
If the 24-year-old finds himself facing a lack of game time this summer, he may decide that a move is the best next step for him to take in his career.
West Brom ought to be on red alert, and ready to make a bold dash to land their man, should that situation come to pass.
According to CNN Turk, Besiktas are set to sign Nacer Chadli from West Brom during this transfer window.
The Belgian’s exit looks inevitable, but Darren Moore will be hoping to raise as much funds as possible from the sale of the man valued at £13.5 million by Transfermarkt.
Transfermarkt value Cavaleiro at £9 million, and a strong offer from the Baggies could be enough to see Nuno allow his man to leave. Especially if Traore has already been secured in his place.
The Portuguese winger may not be keen to drop back down to the second tier having just played a vital role in Wolves’ triumph in the Championship last season. However, the lure of regular game time, and the opportunity to play a starring role in firing West Brom back into the top flight, could sway him.
It would take a big, bold move on West Brom’s part to get this deal over the line. The results could be sensational for the club though if they were able to make it happen.
