According to The Express and Star, on loan striker Dwight Gayle is to remain at the Hawthorns until the end of the season, amid fears that he would be moving.
The website revealed that, despite interest from Chinese Super League clubs, Newcastle do not have the power to end the loan, meaning that they cannot sell Gayle until he returns to St James’ Park.
This is fantastic news for manager Darren Moore, and his entire squad, as Gayle looks to be improving with every game with The Baggies. He has already bagged three goals in four starts for West Brom, and looks to be one of the club’s most important players this season.
Losing him would be a major dent to their promotion hopes; he is a proven success in this division, as his pace and elusive suits the league.
West Brom are currently ninth in the Championship, after a mixed start to their campaign. With three wins, one draw and two losses, The Baggies have looked good in spells, but equally bad in some. But as Gayle returns to form, West Brom fans will hope that their side will rocket up the table and earn their way into the top six, and hopefully a return back to the Premier League. They face struggling rivals Birmingham this Friday, and all involved with the club will hope Gayle is in form.
Losing a player like Gayle would have also been a massive dent to West Brom’s confidence, but this news will fill them with optimism that they can have a very successful.
