Graeme Jones would “love” Nacer Chadli to stay

West Bromwich Albion have suggested that they would like to keep one of their players at the club beyond the summer.

According to a report by the Birmingham Mail, Graeme Jones has revealed that the Baggies are hopeful that they can keep Nacer Chadli at The Hawthorns.

The newest member to the backroom staff has worked with the Belgium international before, with the national side during their successful World Cup campaign and has stated that he would love to continue to work with him.

“He’s as talented as anybody,” he told the Birmingham Mail.

“Of all those players I worked with at the national team, he’s as impressive as anyone with his use of space, timing and understanding.

“I’d love nothing more than for Nacer Chadli to stay here. I’m hoping the style of play we’re growing into would help him to want to stay. I can’t make Nacer’s mind up for him. That’s down to Nacer.”

The Verdict:

West Brom will do well to keep the former Tottenham Hotspur winger at the club this summer, despite links being made about him possibly departing.

The £13.5million-rated winger (via Transfermarkt) is yet to feature for the Baggies so far this season, although he has been struggling with an injury and is thought to be part of their plans as they push for promotion.

However, it remains to be seen if the 29-year-old will remain at the Hawthorns beyond August’s deadline, or if a move does indeed materialise for the Belgium international.
