Kemar Roofe emerges as a top target for West Brom

West Bromwich Albion have had a difficult summer as they have had to deal with the fallout of their Premier League relegation.

Darren Moore’s side have already suffered significant blows with the departures of some of their key stars, as well as some trying to force moves away from The Hawthorns as they want to continue to play top-flight football.

The Baggies boss has been working hard in the transfer market to try and soften those blows with new recruits and is expected to be able to announce Kyle Bartley soon, following the arrival of Sam Johnstone.

And, according to a report by Football Insider, Moore is also considering options about his frontline, with Leeds United’s Kemar Roofe being lined up as a priority target.

The attacker finished as the Whites top goalscorer last season, despite being used in a variety of different positions and that seems to have attracted plenty of interest from other clubs.

West Brom are thought to be one of those interested in the 25-year-old, who had started his career at The Hawthorns, and are keeping tabs on the player to see if they can bring him back to help build a squad capable of challenging for promotion.

The Verdict:

It remains to be seen if whether Leeds will allow Roofe to leave the side and if he will feature in Marcelo Bielsa’s plans for the Whites.

West Brom will know that the Elland Road outfit are currently struggling to land any of their main targets at the moment, which could make a deal difficult for the 25-year-old, although they will also realise that if they make an offer, it could allow Leeds to have the financial backing to get one of their shortlisted men.

The attacker has an eye for goal, and his versatility could also prove useful for Moore’s side, as they will be reeling from the possibility of losing so many of their star players.
